Positive and negative

"Life is part positive and part negative.
Suppose you went to Hear a symphony orchestra
and all they played were the little Happy high notes.
Would you leave soon?
Let me hear the rumble Of the bass,
the crash of the cymbals and the minor keys."

7 Tips For Dealing With Confrontation

A lot of people cannot handle confrontation and start to shake, they lose control of their voice pitch, and they want to hit out and cannot control their thoughts properly. It can be frustrating when someone is putting us down and you can't argue back as you have got a touch of confrontation jitters. This is the `flight or fight' syndrome kicking in and it pumps adrenaline throughout your body in readiness to kick someone's arse or in readiness to run away from someone you think might kick your arse. It is your body getting prepared.
Here are 7 tips to deal with confrontation:
1.        Take a deep breath just before the confrontation or during it, if necessary. This lowers your heartbeat and blood pressure.
2.       Breathe a little slower, again this lowers your heartbeat and lowers the amount of adrenaline running through your body.
3.       Take 5 minutes, if you can, and quickly rehearse what you are going to say to someone. Make key points of your argument.
4.       Get to know what triggers your anger and prepare a new response to that trigger. By doing this you are aware of the buttons people can push to elicit a certain response - When you know your own triggers it less likely that someone can push the buttons as you are prepared.
5.       Make the person aware of how confrontational they are being - Saying something like `why are you shouting at me?', `Why are you being so aggressive'. This turns the energy back on the person and lets them look at themselves for a minute, this might calm them down as a lot of people get lost in the moment and don't realise they are being aggressive.
6.       Another way is to turn all the attention back on the person you are arguing with. `You seem really angry about that!'; `You look as if you're really pissed off?' Again this can have the same affect of point 5.
7.       Don't get sucked into their arguments. The purpose of an argument is to manipulate you into losing the argument thereby showing the other person they have won and they are superior. If you don't get sucked in there is no argument to win, and you come out looking the better person.
If all else fails, the nose is a good place to hit first which can temporarily blind them with tears.

With habits, never give in or we lose our dignity.
With the self, never give up or we lose our destiny.
With others never give your worst or you will
 never develop your best.
The saying, "What we give is what we receive".
The lesson: Just to give.

10 Beliefs That Could Hold You Back In Life

I have spoken a lot about beliefs and how to change them to make your life better. There are certain beliefs that a lot of people believe and I think it's time to address these.
We are initially given beliefs from our parents, teachers, peers, TV and media. When we are young we think adults know more than us so we generally trust in what they say. However as we get older we form our own beliefs about the world. However some of the residual beliefs from our childhood can remain. Sometimes they have remained without us knowing about them.
Here are some beliefs that may be residual, see if you recognise any of them and change them.
·         If You Fail At Something You Are A Failure: This is perpetuated at school and throughout our days of turning into an adult. We are encouraged to win at all costs. If I fail at something, and I have many times, I try again, and again, and again until I get it right. If you believe that "if you fail at something you are a failure" then that means everyone in the world is a failure. Don't hold yourself back by believing this. Install a new belief.
·         Why Change It If It's Not Broken: I don't mean changing for the sake of changing. I am talking about improving upon existing appliances, processes etc. We need change to move on with life and you will always come up against people who don't like change, avoid them if you can. If you see something that could be improved try and implement it.
·         You Are Not Skilled Enough To Go For It: Nobody in life is skilled enough until they start doing it. If you want to do something just start doing it, don't stress about not getting into university to do a degree in computing, just do it until you get in. The internet has more information than you will get at university, college or school it's just a matter of finding it. If you are good and you sell yourself well, you will get noticed.
·         You Are Too Old To Start Something New: The average life expectancy in the UK is about 75 for men and 79 for women and it is similar in the US and Europe. This will change and soon we'll be seeing the average life expectancy at 100. This means we are never too old to start something new. Starting a new venture is a great way to keep the brain active and to keep motivation up for living. I believe we are a nation of people who expect to die at around 75 or so, so what happens? We do. If we expect to live to 100 we would do more changing, feel less inhibited by time. Just do it.
·         Believing God Is An Entity Outside Your Control: You control God, not the other way about. When I say God, I mean a spiritual force, I don't mean the bible and all that as that is obviously not to be believed literally. God is a force within you, when you pray, you are praying to yourself, when you ask forgiveness you are asking yourself for forgiveness. Nobody in this universe controls you, you control the force within you, never let go of that belief. You do not need anybody or anything to allow you to live your own life, live it for yourself and help others to live theirs.
·         You Won't Amount To Anything: The very fact that you are alive says that you are special. If you want to be extraordinary you have to put in the effort. Every single one of us has a talent we don't know about or have not yet been recognised for. Try everything to find something that you love. I am a great believer in change; you don't have to do one thing all your life. Change your lifestyle many times until you find a path you love and are willing to work on.
·         The World Does Not Revolve Around You: The whole universe is all about you. Every single person on this planet has a different world going on inside their heads. You see the world differently from me and I see it differently from someone else. Therefore the world is about you. Tell me now: what are you going to do to change your world?
·         Nobody Believes In You: I believe in you, but my opinion is worth nothing, everybody's opinion is worth nothing. Work on believing in yourself and work on letting go of needing others to believe in you. As soon as you start believing in yourself other people will start believing in you, but let go of needing their belief.
·         You Will Never Make That Amount Of Money: I have heard this so many times. You will make exactly what you expect to make. If I say to myself `There is no way I could make a million pounds' my brain will not look for ways of making that million. If I am determined enough to make a million my brain will help me look for ways of making it, no matter how outrageous the idea, at least you will be creating ideas.
·         There Is Nothing You Can Do About It: Rubbish! You can change any aspect of your life you just can't see it yet. Some people never get past this and it's such a shame. Life can be hard and it takes guts to make the decision to change your life, but you can change it. Know what you want, know the steps you have to take and then change it.

I can be miserable, or I can have a great day.

I can doubt, or I can have Faith.

I can feel depressed, or I can express the Joy
that is inherent in me.

I can fear, or I can trust - myself, others or God.

I can complain about aches and pains or I can affirm
God's perfect gift of life within me.

I can dwell on loss, or I can seek new interests,
 new life in living.

I can criticize others, or I can accept and bless them
and enjoy happy and harmonious relationships.

I can Harbour old grudges, or I can forgive.

I can speak of lack, or I can affirm God's never
 failing supply.

I can give up, or I can make a fresh start.

I can go it alone, or I can depend on God.

Life Is A Football Pitch – Enjoy Every Moment

They say football is the ballet of the masses. There is no other way to describe a game that has legions of fans all over the world, something that the World Cup bears testimony to. And the fan following is by far the most passionate of any sport. Some have literally sacrificed everything for the game – spent all their life savings to faithfully support their teams on tour and even had families walk out on them. Their love for football supersedes all else. What is it that makes football so beautiful, so fascinating, and so seductive?
There is something really simple and inherently natural about football that anyone, no matter which part of the world he comes from or what language he speaks, can relate to. Little wonder that football is the most popular sport in the world. You don't even need to know the rules of the game to play.
Football is the game that teaches you all the dos and don'ts. As soon as the rotund rubber bladder is placed at your feet, you know what to do. It is precisely this that the planners of this year's World Cup had in mind when they christened the tournament ball `Jabulani', the Zulu word meaning `to celebrate'.
At the same time, football is much more than just kicking around and chasing a ball. It is a game that has honour, respect, courage, teamwork and discipline as its fundamental values.
French-Algerian philosopher Albert Camus, a goalkeeper in his youth, had acknowledged that it was football that taught him everything about morality and duty. Camus's analysis stems from the fact that the camaraderie that one experiences on being a part of a football team, the sense of shared grief in loss and joy in victory, provides for great learning and wisdom.
The game of football itself is a metaphor for life, a constant struggle between free will and the unpredictable forces of destiny.
Just as in life, the number of variables in a game of football is huge.
To predict an outcome not only would we have to take into account the performances of each of the 22 players on that given day, but also consider external factors such as wind, liveliness of the pitch, flight of the ball, and team tactics, to name a few.
There are so many unknowns that a football game is not unlike the mysteries of the universe. Not even the best brains have been able to come up with a unified formula that explains everything in the cosmos.
The contradiction between classical physics on the one hand and quantum physics on the other continues to haunt us. Scientists have failed to marry the two effectively and come up with a universal theory of everything.
It is here that football might have an answer. For, like in life, contradictions reign supreme in football only to be intermittently superseded by moments of brilliance when opposing forces align to produce perfect symphony.
And what fans experience is blissful harmony when a player is able to see through obstacles, defy the unknown, take a risk and produce a spark of genius to achieve his goal. It is then that we realise that life is a football pitch and we ordinary mortals are connected to the music of the cosmos through the rhythm of the beautiful game.

Be Worthy Of Imitation

They say imitation is the greatest compliment, but are your actions worthy of imitation?
We are all in some setting of leadership. Whether it be as a parent, boss, or friend
we should constantly examine the example we are setting for those around us.

Are you being a positive role model?
Are you treating others in a dignified way?

Be a cheerful and diligent worker, parent, and boss to those around you.
Children, especially, are like sponges taking in your every action and
word--they naturally want to be just like you.

So be mindful of your word and deed, you never know who might be
watching and silently learning what you are demonstrating.

Positive Thinking - You Are What You Think

Positive Thinking - You Are What You Think
Positive thinking is a mental attitude that anticipates happiness, success and favorable outcomes in every situation or action you do. The thoughts get registered in your subconscious mind and you start taking action to create favorable change.
A positive outlook can help you to cope better with stressful situations and can change your life for the better.
Why Think Positively?
Ever wondered why some people find learning an enjoyable and exciting experience?
Why are some people disinterested and find learning an unpleasant experience while others use it merely as a road to fetch a good job?
The difference between these people lies in their attitude and their approach towards life.
Your mindset plays a huge role in every aspect of your life.
Your mind can control your body for better or for worse. A negative mindset can mar your life while a positive mindset can make your life happy and peaceful. The choice is yours!
Ways To Develop Positive Thinking
You cannot change your thoughts and attitude over night. Positive thinking takes practice.
Persistence would make your mind to think positively and ignore negative thoughts.
Benefits Of Positive Thinking
·         Decreases stress.
·         Helps you cope better in stressful situations.
·         Strengthens your Immune System and reduces the risk of certain diseases.
·         Improves your self-esteem and confidence.
·         Brings inner peace, happiness and a sense of well-being.
·         Motivates you to accomplish your goals.
·         Helps you have greater inner strength and energy.
·         Helps you live longer.
Listen To Your Inner Voice
Listening to your inner voice or instincts is one of the most common ways to develop positive thinking.
Whenever any negative thoughts enter your mind, try to replace it with a constructive one. For example, "I won't be able to do it" will be put forward as "I will do it".
Practice this regularly and you will soon be able to master your mind.
Learn To Meditate
Meditation calms your mind and relaxes your body.
Meditation gives you inner strength, peace of mind, relaxation and a sense of bliss, which will help you to think positively.
Always See The Brighter Side Of Life
Try to believe that everything happens for a reason and embrace the concept that something good will come out of every situation that momentarily seems bad.
Always look on the bright side of life and it will work wonders for you.
Learn To Communicate Effectively
Not saying the things you feel can give a sense of frustration, anxiety and anger, thus giving way to negative thoughts. Hence, communication is an important aspect of positive thinking.
Believe In Yourself
Believe in yourself and your capabilities to become more confident.
Make a positive commitment to your self and to the people around you.
Praise yourself and be enthusiastic.
Tips To Positive Thinking
·         Be optimistic and expect favorable outcomes in every situation.
·         Cultivate the habit of reading inspiring books.
·         Find reasons to smile more often. It's a great stress buster.
·         Try to use positive words, e.g. "I can", "it will be done", "it is possible" while thinking and talking.
·         Engage yourself in enjoyable recreational activities.
·         Interact with people who have a positive outlook in life.
Finally…
Positive thinking needs consistent effort as you are creating a new habit.
On the other hand, negative thoughts can rip your focus from your goal.
There is no greater joy than living a healthy and positive life.
So take charge of your mind and think positive. Remember, you are what you think.

Live life to the fullest.
True and honest, begin with yourself and extend it to others.
Use your words wisely. Words have power and create influence,
 do not spread them carelessly.
Negative words create negative energy and repel those around you.

 Live in the positive.
Leave your 'stamp' on everything you do.
Make yourself an icon to be admired and respected.
Become an inspiration to others-so think carefully
before you speak and act.
Every action, every word carries a consequence.

Create a genuineness about you that is
addictive to all those who meet you. And finally, leave a mark on those you meet that
couldn't have been left if you weren't in their lives.

Choices in every moment

The same skills you use to create limiting beliefs can be
Used to create empowering beliefs. All you need is a
Meaningful enough reason.

The same energy you use to make excuses can instead be used
To take action. You simply have to want it enough.

You are a full time, highly effective achievement machine.
What you choose to achieve is completely up to you.

You have what it takes to live your dreams and you have what
It takes to ignore those dreams. You get to decide which it
Will be.

Your choices are made in every moment, in every word, in
Every thought, and in every action. Those choices are driven
By what you focus upon.

The life you live is the life you choose to most vividly and
Consistently imagine. Imagine the best, without ceasing, and
that's exactly what you'll have.

Life is too short

"Life is too short to spend your precious time trying to
Convince a person who wants to live in gloom and doom
Otherwise. Give lifting that person your best shot, but don't
Hang around long enough for his or her bad attitude to pull
You down. Instead, surround yourself with optimistic people."

The Choices We Make

In the long run, we shape our lives,
and we shape ourselves.
The process never ends until we die.
And the choices we make are ultimately
 our own responsibility.

Success is waiting to Happen

When we see someone successful,
we say that he just got Lucky.
'He must have been at the right place
at the right time.'
People only see one side of the picture.
People don't see the Failures If you
study history, you will find that

All stories of success are also stories of
 great failures
So if you are failing; Remember,
 success is waiting to happen.

Life is A Game....

Life is a game of cards.
You did not invent the game,

Nor did you frame the rules.

You have no control over the cards
 dealt to you.
But you are there to play.
A good player, even with a bad hand of
cards, will play well and emerge a winner.

A bad player, even with the best
of cards, will play badly and lose

Easy?

Easy is to get a place in someone's address book.
Difficult is to get a place in someone's heart.
Easy is to judge the mistakes of others
Difficult is to recognize our own mistakes.
Easy is to talk without thinking
Difficult is to refrain the tongue.
Easy is to hurt someone who loves us.
Difficult is to heal the wound.
Easy is to forgive others
Difficult is to ask for forgiveness.
Easy is to set rules
Difficult is to follow them.
Easy is to dream every night
Difficult is to fight for a dream.
Easy is to show victory
Difficult is to assume defeat with dignity.
Easy is to admire a full moon
Difficult to see the other side.
Easy is to stumble with a stone
Difficult is to get up.
Easy is to enjoy life every day
Difficult to give its real value.
Easy is to promise something to someone
Difficult is to fulfill that promise.
Easy is to say we love
Difficult is to show it every day.
Easy is to criticize others
Difficult is to improve oneself.
Easy is to make mistakes
Difficult is to learn from them.
Easy is to weep for a lost love
Difficult is to take care of it so not to lose it.
Easy is to think about improving
Difficult is to stop thinking it
And put it into action.
Easy is to think bad of others
Difficult is to give them
The benefit of the doubt.
Easy is to receive
Difficult is to give.
Easy to read this
Difficult to follow.
Easy is keep the friendship with words
Difficult is to keep it with meanings.

A New day

This is the beginning of a new day.
I have been given this day to use as I will.
I can waste it, or use it.

I can make it a day long to be remembered
for its joy, its beauty and its achievements,
or it can be filled with pettiness.

What I do today is important because
I am exchanging a day of my life for it.
When tomorrow comes this day will be gone forever,
but I shall hold something which I have traded for it.
It may be no more than a memory, but
if it is a worthy one I shall not regret the price.
I want it to be gain not loss, good not evil,
 success not failure.
